About the numbers

Where these wages come from

Job Bank, the official source

Wages come from Employment and Social Development Canada's wage data, the same figures Job Bank shows. They're hourly unless Job Bank reports them as yearly, and the tool checks for new releases every week.

Low, median and high

The median is the middle wage: half of workers earn more and half earn less. Job Bank's low and high are the lower and upper ends of the range most workers earn.

Cities use their region

Job Bank publishes wages by economic region, not by city, so each city shows its region's figures. If a region has too little data, Job Bank doesn't publish a wage there, and the provincial and national figures are shown instead.

For LMIA applications, the wage to compare with is the median wage on Job Bank for the occupation and work location at the time you apply. Always confirm on Job Bank before you rely on a figure. WorkerPool is a data processing company, not an immigration representative.
